Ledged Doors
All UK-OAK doors are 42mm thick, this comprises the main door of 20mm and the ledges of 22mm. The vertical 20mm boards have a micro bevel on the corners giving a V-Groove appearance and the external boards used for ledges, braced and frames are fixed with screws to the vertical boards and then wooden plugs are used to fill the screw holes.
Ledged door range is made with random width vertical planks and 3 horizontal 'ledges' (approx. 110mm) (also available with 4 or 5 ledges). All Ledged doors come with an approximately 20mm gap between the edge of the ledge and the edge of the door, this is so that each door can safely be cut down to the next smaller size, allowing the option of hanging with either traditional T-Hinges or modern door hinges. It also allows our customers to cut doors to size themselves with the minimum of fuss.
