Our British Larch cladding offers a strong, durable, and cost-effective alternative to oak, perfect for traditional-style buildings. With a high resin content, British Larch is twice as durable as common pine. This timber is moderately durable (BS EN 350-2 classified) and can be used externally without treatment if no sapwood is present.
Unique Appearance: This fresh-sawn cladding features beautiful color variations—from pinks and browns to creams—and dark brown knots. As the wood dries, you may notice some loose knots or resin patches, which are part of its natural charm. If left untreated, it will gracefully weather to a silvery-gray.
Available Grades:
First Grade: Sorted for the clearest, most knot-free boards and straightest grain. Ideal for modern and contemporary applications.
Character Grade: A mix of all top four grades, offering a rustic, less uniform look without compromising durability.
Important Notes:
This cladding is fresh-sawn and ready to fix. Please be aware that the hard knots in this wood prevent a profiled finish, and the timber is prone to splitting when worked.
When making calculations, please allow for a minimum 35mm overlap per board (50mm is preferable).
Priced per square metre and supplied in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm. Set lengths are available for an additional charge.
