Our real solid oak flooring is of the highest quality, and priced to be very affordable. We are confident it is absolutely great value for money and will become an asset for you that you will be proud of for many years to come.
We sell our flooring in several grades, each of which have specific benefits that you can opt for to suit your specific use-case. All our grades are 100% solid oak, The grades we offer are Select, Prime, Character and Rustic/Tavern, described in detail below.
Select grade
Our Select grade can be generally regarded as the pinnacle of oak flooring. Selected to have as straight a grain as possible, with a quality consistent look. This is a completely natural product, so there will always be some variation, but we try to minimise this and also seek to ensure there are no knots larger than 5mm, as well as no sapwood and no checking.
Prime (A/B grade)
Aside from the rarely used Select grade, this is the highest grade of oak flooring and is very popular indeed. It has very few imperfections, such as knots, sapwood, and colour variation. Prime oak flooring is often used where a clean, contemporary look is desired. New builds, high end apartments and the like.
Rustic/Tavern grade
This is the lowest grade of oak flooring, but it is still solid oak and beautiful!
It can have the most natural imperfections, such as large knots, sapwood, and significant colour variation. Rustic/Tavern oak flooring is perfect for covering large areas in a cost effective, characterful manner.
Character grade
This grade of oak flooring allows for more natural imperfections -- we like to call them character, such as larger knots, sapwood, and colour variation. Character oak flooring can give a more rustic or traditional look to a room while also adding to the intrigue within each individual board.
At UK Oak not only do we provide you with a great selection of graded options, we also offer these in multiple species from Europe and American, each of which has different colours, texture and grains. Putting these together with the grades you then have an even more diverse selection to choose from to find that exact look and feel you are seeking for your specific use. The three principal species are shown with the picture links to their respective pages in our shop below.
