Our Douglas Fir Internal Tongue and Groove Cladding is the perfect option if you're looking for that classic 'T&G' appearance for your cladding project, combined with the inherent durability and beautiful grain of Douglas Fir, exceptional weather resistance, and a budget-friendly alternative to our Oak claddings.

Douglas Fir showcases a remarkable array of color variations, ranging from pinks and browns to creams, depending on the section of the tree that is harvested. Some dark brown knots may become loose as the wood dries, occasionally leading to resin patches that might seep initially and sometimes during the hotter summer months. Thanks to its exceptionally high resin content, Douglas Fir can be twice as durable as standard pine, establishing it as an incredibly robust and long-lasting species.

These boards are joined by inserting the tongue into the groove. The chamfering at both the top and bottom of the boards highlights each individual board by forming a delicate 'V' shadow line along the joints.

This machined cladding is recommended for external use only. If exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting your boards, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.

Your boards will be supplied untreated. No treatments are required, however if you wish to preserve the supplied colour or use a weather resistant sealant, please take a look at our Treatex range. Should you wish to leave it to age gracefully, it will eventually turn to a beautiful silvery grey colour as the suns rays do their work.

Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:

  • First Grade is sorted to include only the clearest (most knot free) boards with the straightest grain possible. A perfect choice for all modern and contemporary applications.
  • Character Grade will have a mixture of all top four grades, 1 through to 4 - some clear of knots and some straight grain, others with knots and some sloping grain. A perfect choice for all traditional/rustic applications, it gives a less uniformed look, without compromising its excellent durability properties.

End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.

We offer the following section size:

  • 142mm x 22mm- The overall width is 142mm, with the visible face measuring 132mm

The face size is less 10mm to account for the tongue joint.

This profile is priced per square metre and comes in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm unless specified for an additional charge:

  • Set lengths up to 3500mm - £15 ex VAT per sqm
  • Set lengths above 3500mm - £18 ex VAT per sqm
