For those who value authenticity and incredible strength, our Douglas Fir Board on Board Cladding is the ultimate choice. This hardwearing species is twice as durable as common pine, thanks to its super-high resin content. Its unique aesthetic, with striking colour variations and charming natural features like knots and resin patches, ensures a truly distinctive finish.

This machined cladding is for external use only. To ensure the best results and minimize movement, we recommend you control the installation conditions. The ideal time to fit is between October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.

These boards are supplied untreated, giving you the choice to embrace the natural aging process. If left alone, the timber will gracefully fade to a beautiful silvery-grey. Alternatively, you can preserve its initial colour by using a weather-resistant sealant from our Treatex range.

Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:

  • First Grade is sorted to include only the clearest (most knot free) boards with the straightest grain possible. A perfect choice for all modern and contemporary applications.
  • Character Grade will have a mixture of all top four grades, 1 through to 4 - some clear of knots and some straight grain, others with knots and some sloping grain. A perfect choice for all traditional/rustic applications, it gives a less uniformed look, without compromising its excellent durability properties.

End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.

We offer the following section size:

  • 142mm x 22mm
  • 142/70mm x 22mm (it will be an even split between sizes, please reference images)

This profile is priced per square metre and comes in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm unless specified for an additional charge:

  • Set lengths up to 3500mm - £15 ex VAT per sqm
  • Set lengths above 3500mm - £18 ex VAT per sqm.
