Searching for a durable and unique interior finish? Our Kiln Dried Douglas Fir Internal Shiplap Cladding is the perfect solution. The shiplap profile is ideal for creating a clean, linear appearance, and its shadow lines will visually elongate your wall. We’ve meticulously machined this cladding to ensure a truly unique finish.

This timber is an incredibly strong and hard-wearing species. Its super-high resin content makes it twice as durable as common pine, ensuring it will last for a very long time. While you may see some natural characteristics like knots and the occasional resin patch, these are part of the wood’s natural charm and do not affect its integrity.

Your boards will be supplied untreated. No treatments are required, however if you wish to preserve the supplied colour a little longer or use a weather resistant sealant, please take a look at our Treatex range. If left untreated, it will eventually fade into a beautiful silvery grey as nature does its work. Dark brown knots may loosen as the wood dries, occasionally resulting in resin patches that may ooze a little at first and sometimes during subsequent hot summers.

Recommended for external use only, if exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting your boards, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.

We offer the following section sizes with an 8mm recess:

  • 142mm x 22mm - The overall width is 142mm, with the visible face measuring 134mm
  •
  • Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:
  • First Grade is sorted to include only the clearest (most knot free) boards with the straightest grain possible. A perfect choice for all modern and contemporary applications.
  • Character Grade will have a mixture of all top four grades, 1 through to 4 - some clear of knots and some straight grain, others with knots and some sloping grain. A perfect choice for all traditional/rustic applications, it gives a less uniformed look, without compromising its excellent durability properties.

End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.

This profile is priced per square metre and comes in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm unless otherwise specified for an additional charge:

  • Set lengths up to 3500mm - £15 ex VAT per sqm
  • Set lengths above 3500mm - £18 ex VAT per sqm
