Tired of high-maintenance cladding? Our Scandinavian Redwood Thermowood Board on Board Cladding is a perfect solution. It offers a stunning, modern look for both internal and external use without the need for extra oiling or painting. The timber’s rich golden-brown colour naturally ages to a dark grey, but you have the option to preserve its original beauty with UV oil.
No additional treatment is required for Thermowood because it is a modified wood that has been treated by heat in a kiln.
Our Redwood Thermowood is naturally knotty, but these knots don't affect the material's durability. The kiln-drying process, however, can make the cladding prone to splitting. As with all kiln-dried softwoods, we advise you to factor in an extra 10% for wastage. This splitting does not compromise the integrity of the cladding, but it is an important consideration.
Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:
End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.

If your boards are exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.
Please be aware that sizes are subject to change in response to changes in moisture levels. Cladding will be kiln-dried to approximately an 7-10% moisture content prior to machining, but may vary between production and installation on site. Cladding will be dispatched at given sizes, but a margin of error should be used when producing cladding layout drawings for expansion and contraction in the timber.
