Our meticulously crafted British Larch and Douglas Fir Internal Rain Screen Cladding, also referred to as Splayed Cladding, is the ideal selection if you seek striking shadow lines, along with unbeatable weather protection, and the natural resilience and beautiful grain of British Larch.

British Larch/Douglas Fir showcases remarkable color variations ranging from pinks and browns to creams, depending on the section of the tree from which it is sourced. Some dark brown knots may loosen as the wood dries, occasionally leading to resin patches that might seep initially and sometimes during the hotter summer months. Thanks to its exceptionally high resin content, British Larch and Douglas Fir can be up to twice as durable as standard pine, making it an exceptionally robust and long-lasting species.

Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:

  • First Grade is sorted to include only the clearest (most knot free) boards with the straightest grain possible. A perfect choice for all modern and contemporary applications.
  • Character Grade will have a mixture of all top four grades, 1 through to 4 - some clear of knots and some straight grain, others with knots and some sloping grain. A perfect choice for all traditional/rustic applications, it gives a less uniformed look, without compromising its excellent durability properties.

End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.

UK Timber works with the Treatex brand to enable us to offer you treatments and finishes for both internal and external applications. Our Treatex Douglas Fir Protection offers long lasting weather protection for external applications, whereas for internal applications our range of Treatex Hardwax Oils will enhance the woods natural appearance and characteristics. Should you wish to leave it to age gracefully, your boards will eventually turn to a beautiful silvery grey colour.

We offer the following section size:

  • 142mm x 22mm- The overall width is 142mm, with the visible face measuring 122mm

If exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting your boards, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.

This profile is priced per square metre and comes in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm unless otherwise specified for an additional charge:

  • Set lengths up to 3500mm - £15 ex VAT per sqm
  • Set lengths above 3500mm - £18 ex VAT per sqm

Please contact our Sales Team on 01536 267 107 should you have any issues.
