UK Oak are one of the few Oak Flooring manufacturers in the UK and we are delighted to tell you that in response to customer demand we are adding to our extensive portfolio. Our beautifully machined Tavern Grade Solid American Red Oak Flooring is now available, a completely bespoke product that is machined to order.
Tavern Grade Solid American Red Oak Flooring is sometimes referred to as pub grade and barn grade across the industry due to the boards being characterised by the highest number of large knots, burrs, cracks, holes and colour streaks, compared to other grades. Used in cottages, barns and pubs, this flooring is perfect for high traffic areas where perfection is not expected and character is the ultimate aim!
These characteristics do not affect the durabiltiy of the boards versus the other flooring grades, giving you the same longevity at a lower grade and desired aesthetic for your project.
Everything about our Solid American Red Oak Flooring is unique, we machine the material from the tree to its final form - all of our production is inhouse allowing us to select the best boards for your floorboards. Our process begins with the tree passing through our sawmill, where the boards are graded and selected for their final purpose. They are then kiln dried to between an 8 - 12% moisture content for ultimate stability and then graded once more before being sawn to size, before they are planed to a beautifully smooth finish, ready for a final sanding once in position.
For effective installation, we recommend that the boards are laid onto a flat surface. Unlike floorboards with cross-cut ends, these ends-matched (tongue and grooved edges) boards simply click together without the need to select/cut boards to ensure that the ends land on a joist, this ultimately will save you both money and time!
Supplied in random lengths between 400mm and 3000mm though shorter lengths may be included to fill gaps/make up the meterage.
The price advertised is per square metre (m2). Set lengths are £15 ex VAT per sqm for lengths up to 2400mm and £20 ex VAT per sqm for lengths above 2400mm by ordering using the dropdown options and leaving a note in the order comments at the checkout to specify the set lengths.
